Prerequisites
  • The item card is open and its type is a produced item (Mamul (Finished product) or Yarı Mamul (Semi-finished product)).
  • The characteristic to be used exists in the Özellikler (Characteristics) dictionary or will be created in the window; its code consists of letters, digits and underscores (rules read it by this code).

A configuration characteristic is an option of a configurable item that is asked of the customer: length, color, power, series. The characteristic type determines how it is read in a rule (option code as text, number as number, Yes/No): Expression language.

Steps

  1. Open the item in Ürün Ana Verileri (Item Master Data) and go to the Yapılandırma (Configuration) tab.
    OpenYapılandırma
  2. If the card is standard, click Yapılandırılabilir Yap (Make Configurable) and confirm the question "Ürün yapılandırılabilir yapılsın mı?" (Make the item configurable?) with Yapılandırılabilir Yap.
ClickYapılandırılabilir YapExpected: The Yapılandırılabilir (Configurable) badge in the header; the Yapılandırma Özellikleri (Configuration Characteristics) section opens
  3. Click Özellik Ekle (Add Characteristic). In the Özellik (Characteristic) field, search for and select the characteristic from the dictionary; if it does not exist, enter the Ad (Name), Kod (Code) and type of the new characteristic.
ClickÖzellik EkleValue: BOY — Ondalık, birim m
  4. If the characteristic is to be entered on every order, turn on Zorunlu (Mandatory).
    ClickZorunlu
  5. For a characteristic with options, if only some values can be selected for this item, turn on Değerleri sınırla (Restrict values) and check the valid values. For a numeric characteristic, fill in the En az (Minimum), En çok (Maximum) and Adım (Step) fields of the İzinli aralık (Allowed range).
    EnterEn azValue: 2 · En çok 30 · Adım 0,5
  6. If necessary, select a Varsayılan değer (Default value) and click Ekle (Add).
ClickEkleExpected: The characteristic is added to the Yapılandırma Özellikleri (Configuration Characteristics) table
Product › Configuration — characteristics, precondition, object dependencies
    1. 1Add Characteristic
    2. 2Characteristic with a precondition
    3. 3Required
    4. 4Default value
    5. 5Object dependency — constraint, procedure, table
Result
The characteristic is asked in the configurator of the sales line and in the BOM's Configure and Test window; rules read it by its code. Next step: if necessary, a precondition, then line rules.

What you need to know

  • In sales, the question order is the order in the table; it is changed with the up/down arrows on the row.
  • An optional characteristic can be left empty; in rules, an empty value is unknown. Write a condition that reads it accordingly: Unknown value.
  • An out-of-range value prevents the sales line from being saved: 'Boy' değeri izinli aralıkta değil (2–30 m, 0,5 m adım). (The value of 'Boy' (Length) is not in the allowed range (2–30 m, 0.5 m step).)
  • On an item that has variants, a new characteristic can be added only as optional.
  • To load characteristics in bulk, use the Yapılandırma (Configuration) sheet of the Product Import workbook (Zorunlu, IzinliDegerler, EnAz, EnCok, Adim, Varsayilan, OnKosul).
