# Disable a user

> Close the account of an employee who has left — sign-in is blocked, the open session ends, the record and past documents remain; restore it if necessary.

- **Type:** Task
- **Module:** Administration
- **Menu path:** Yönetim › Kullanıcı ve Roller › Kullanıcılar (Administration › Users and Roles › Users)
- **Screen route:** `/users`
- **Required permission:** `users.delete`
- **Prerequisites:**
  - The account being closed is not your own account.

The account of an employee who has left is not deleted; it is **disabled**. The record and its traces are preserved; the
account no longer counts toward the number of active users.

## Steps

1. On the **Yönetim › Kullanıcı ve Roller › Kullanıcılar** (Administration › Users and Roles › Users) screen, find the user with the **Ara** (Search) box.
   <!-- action: navigate · target: "/users" -->
2. Select **Devre Dışı Bırak** (Disable) from the row's **İşlemler** (Actions) menu.
<!-- action: click · target: "Devre Dışı Bırak" · expect: "The Hesap devre dışı bırakılsın mı? (Disable the account?) window" -->
3. In the window, click **Devre dışı bırak** (Disable).
<!-- action: click · target: "Devre dışı bırak" -->

   1. Login closes, open session ends; roles are kept

4. To see the result, set the **Durum** (Status) filter to **Pasif (devre dışı)** (Inactive (disabled)); the row has the **Devre dışı** (Disabled) badge.
<!-- action: verify · target: "Pasif (devre dışı)" -->

   ![Disabled accounts and Restore](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/en/img/screens/yonetim/kullanicilar-pasif.png)
   1. Status: Inactive (disabled)
   2. Disabled badge
   3. Restore — reopens with its roles

**Result:** The account cannot sign in; its open session ends on the next request (in the Access Log: "Oturum düşürüldü" (Session terminated) · "Hesap devre dışı" (Account disabled)). Its roles remain as they are, and past documents continue to show the account. Pending invitation and password reset links become invalid.

## Restore

Set the Status filter to **Pasif (devre dışı)** (Inactive (disabled)), select **İşlemler › Geri Yükle** (Actions ›
Restore) on the row and click **Geri yükle** (Restore). "Kapatıldığı günkü rolleri ve yetkileri olduğu gibi geri gelir —
yeniden atamanız gerekmez. Parolası değişmedi." (The roles and permissions it had on the day it was closed come back as
they were — you do not need to reassign them. Its password has not changed.) If the license's user limit is full, the
restore is rejected.

## What you need to know

- You cannot close your own account: "Kendi hesabınızı devre dışı bırakamazsınız. Bunu başka bir yönetici
yapmalı." (You cannot disable your own account. Another administrator must do this.)
- Editing actions (role, password, restriction) are not available on a disabled account; restore it first.
- There is no action that deletes an account completely.
- To hand over the person's role to another employee, assign the role to the new person; the roles of a disabled
account are not automatically passed to anyone.
