# Create a user with a password

> Create a user with a password set by the administrator when email is not configured or the account is needed immediately; changing the password at first sign-in is mandatory.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - The role to be assigned is defined.
  - You can pass the password to the user through a secure channel (in person, by phone) — the password is not included in any email.

If the invitation email cannot be sent (no email settings) or the person needs to sign in immediately, the account is
created with a password set by the administrator.

## Steps

1. On the **Yönetim › Kullanıcı ve Roller › Kullanıcılar** (Administration › Users and Roles › Users) screen, click **Yeni Kullanıcı** (New User); fill in **Ad** (First Name), **Soyad** (Last Name) and **E-posta** (Email).

2. In the **Giriş ve Şifre** (Sign-in and Password) group, select **Şifreyi ben belirleyeyim** (I will set the password).

3. Click **Rastgele Üret** (Generate Random; the password is written to both fields and becomes visible) or type the password twice yourself. Rule: at least 8 characters; at least one digit and one lowercase letter. Copy the password to the clipboard with **Kopyala** (Copy).

4. Leave **İlk girişte şifre değiştirilmesi zorunlu olsun** (Require password change at first sign-in) checked. If you want an information email to be sent to the user, leave **Hesabın açıldığını kullanıcıya e-postayla bildir** (Notify the user by email that the account has been created) checked (requires email settings; the password is not written in the email).

5. Select the roles on the **Roller** (Roles) tab and, if needed, the unit on the **Organizasyon Birimi** (Organizational Unit) tab.

6. Click **Oluştur** (Create).

**Result:** The account can sign in immediately. At first sign-in the user sees the **Parolanızı değiştirin** (Change your password) screen: they enter **Mevcut parola** (Current password; the one you gave), **Yeni parola** (New password) and **Yeni parola (tekrar)** (New password (again)) and click **Parolamı Değiştir ve Devam Et** (Change My Password and Continue). They cannot go to any screen without changing it.

## What you need to know

- Copy the password before saving; once the window closes, the password is never shown again. The window's note:
  "Şifre e-postada yer almaz: kullanıcıya kendiniz iletin — kaydetmeden önce kopyalayın." (The password is not included
  in the email: pass it to the user yourself — copy it before saving.)
- While **İlk girişte şifre değiştirilmesi zorunlu olsun** (Require password change at first sign-in) is checked, if the
  user tries to perform an action without changing the password, the server rejects it: "Devam etmeden önce
  parolanızı değiştirmeniz gerekiyor — bu parolayı sizden başka biri de biliyor." (You must change your password
  before continuing — someone other than you also knows this password.)
- The new password cannot be the same as the old one: "Yeni parola mevcut paroladan farklı olmalı." (The new password
  must be different from the current password.)
- A value that does not meet the password rule: "En az 8 karakter olmalı." (Must be at least 8 characters.) · "En az bir
  rakam içermeli." (Must contain at least one digit.) · "En az bir küçük harf içermeli." (Must contain at least one
  lowercase letter.) · if the two fields differ, "Şifreler aynı değil." (The passwords do not match.)
