# Validate the workbook

> Validate a completed Excel workbook without changing any record — see whether each row will be created, updated, left unchanged or is invalid.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - The workbook is in .xlsx format and the sheet names are the same as in the template.
  - The records the workbook links to (e.g. a storage location's warehouse, a BOM's item) exist in the system or in the same workbook.

**Kontrol Et** (Validate) is a rehearsal of the import: the server reads the workbook as if importing it, calculates
the result for each row and writes nothing. A user without import permission can also validate and forward the file
to an authorized person.

## Steps

1. On the **Yönetim › Araçlar › Veri Aktarımı** (Administration › Tools › Data Import) screen, click the object's name; the screen opens with the **İçe Aktar** (Import) tab.

2. In the **1 · Dosya** (1 · File) box, click **Dosya Seç** (Choose File) and select the workbook.

3. In the **2 · Kontrol** (2 · Validation) box, click **Kontrol Et** (Validate). The progress bar shows the stage and the number of rows; you can leave the screen, and a notification arrives when it finishes.

4. Read the **Kontrol sonucu** (Validation result) counters: **Açılacak** (To be created), **Güncellenecek** (To be updated), **Değişmiyor** (Unchanged), **Hatalı** (Invalid). If Hatalı is 0, the **Aktar** (Import) button is enabled.

**Result:** The workbook has been validated; no records were written. ## What you need to know

- Validation runs on the server as a job. You can stop it with **İptal Et** (Cancel) ("Kontrol iptal edildi." —
  Validation cancelled.); because validation does not change any record, cancelling has no effect.
- The validated workbook is kept on the server. If you leave the screen and come back, the last job appears on the
  screen again (if it finished within 60 minutes; always if you come from the notification), and it reads "Kitap
  sunucuda — yeniden seçmeniz gerekmez." (The workbook is on the server — you do not need to select it again.)
- Validating the same workbook a second time is safe. An already-loaded workbook returns entirely **Değişmiyor**
  (Unchanged) — this is the update and re-run rule. The only exception is **Stok Açılışı** (Opening Stock): a posted
  reference returns **Hatalı** (Invalid) with the message "Bu referansla açılış zaten yazılmış (…) — stok ikinci kez
  girmez." (An opening has already been posted with this reference (…) — the stock is not entered a second time.)
- The workbook's sheet order is the processing order: in the same workbook, a warehouse can be created first, and
  then that warehouse's storage location.
