# Open a BOM revision

> Open a new draft revision to change a released bill of materials; the base quantity and lines are entered again.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - The BOM has no open draft revision (if it does, release or edit that one first).

A released revision cannot be changed or deleted. A change is made with a new draft revision, which replaces the
previous revision when it is released (or on the date of the selected change number).

## Steps

1. In the **Üretim › Ana Veriler › Ürün Ağaçları** (Production › Master Data › Bills of Materials) list, click the output card to open the BOM detail.

2. Click **Yeni Revizyon** (New Revision) in the header. The button is visible only when the BOM has no draft.

3. Enter the **Temel Miktar** (Base Quantity). The form opens empty: nothing is copied from the previous revision.

4. Enter the lines with **Malzeme Ekle** (Add Material) or **Boş Satır** (Empty Line); on each line, set the **Miktar** (Quantity), **Birim** (Unit), **Bileşen firesi (%)** (Component scrap, %) and **Geri sarf** (Backflush).

5. Click **Revizyonu Oluştur** (Create Revision).

**Result:** The new revision is saved as **Taslak** (Draft); the released revision remains effective as it is. Change the draft with **Düzenle** (Edit) and [release it](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/islemler/urun-agacini-yayinlama). In the demo environment, the Revision 2 draft for BOM #49 was opened with these steps.

## What you need to know

- A BOM can have only one draft at a time. While there is a draft, **Yeni Revizyon** (New Revision) is not visible;
  the server also rejects it with "Bu ürün ağacında zaten düzenlenebilir bir taslak revizyon var. Önce mevcut taslağı
  yayınlayın ya da güncelleyin." (This BOM already has an editable draft revision. Release or update the existing draft
  first.)
- In the BOM form, a new revision opens **empty**; enter the unchanged lines again as well. To change a component in
  many BOMs at the same time, [BOM component management](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/ekranlar/urun-agaci-bilesen-yonetimi) opens a new
  revision by copying the latest released revision.
- If the Base Quantity is left empty, the **Revizyon kaydedilemedi** (Revision could not be saved) summary says
  "Temel çıktı miktarı zorunlu." (The base output quantity is required.)
- Decimal quantities are entered in Turkish format (with a comma): `4,2`.
- The output card does not change in a new revision; for a different card, a new BOM is opened.
- A new revision is different for a routing: it opens prefilled with the operations of the highest-numbered revision
  ([Routings](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/ekranlar/rotalar)).
