# Create a bill of materials

> Create a bill of materials (recipe) for a produced card — base quantity, usage, material lines, scrap and backflush; draft revision 1 is opened.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - The output card is flagged "Üretim ürünü" (Production item) (semi-finished or finished product), is active and is not a service card.
  - The material cards are active and the units to be used can be converted to the base unit.

A bill of materials is the card's recipe. A saved BOM is created with a **Taslak** (Draft) revision; releasing it is a
separate operation. If the card already has a BOM for this usage, the new BOM becomes the **next alternative**.

## Steps

1. Open the **Üretim › Ana Veriler › Ürün Ağacı Oluştur** (Production › Master Data › Create BOM) screen or click **Yeni Ürün Ağacı** (New BOM) in the **Ürün Ağaçları** (Bills of Materials) list.

2. Type the card's code in the **Çıktı Kartı** (Output Card) field and press `Enter`, select the card from the list and press `Enter` again (`F4` or the magnifier opens the list).

3. Enter the **Temel Miktar** (Base Quantity) and its unit. Line quantities apply to this output quantity (e.g. 1 ADET (pc) or 100 ADET).

4. If there is a loss of finished product in the process, enter the **Montaj Firesi (%)** (Assembly Scrap, %); all components are increased by this percentage.

5. Select the **Kullanım** (Usage): **Üretim** (Production) for actual production, **Mühendislik** (Engineering) for the design phase. If necessary, enter an **Alternatif adı** (Alternative name) and **Parti büyüklüğü** (Lot size).

6. Click **Malzeme Ekle** (Add Material), check the required cards in the window and add them; each card becomes a separate line. To enter by typing a code, use **Boş Satır** (Empty Line).

7. On each line, enter the **Miktar** (Quantity) and **Birim** (Unit); if necessary, enter the **Bileşen firesi (%)** (Component scrap, %) and check **Geri sarf** (Backflush) for consumables to be deducted automatically with the output.

8. If an equivalent card can be used, add an alternative with **Ekle** (Add) in the line's **Alternatif** (Alternative) column and select the **Strateji** (Strategy) (**Öncelik** (Priority) or **Kullanım olasılığı** (Usage probability)).

9. If a by-product or co-product arises together with the order's output, add it with **Yan / Ortak Ürün Ekle** (Add By-Product / Co-Product).

10. Click **Ürün Ağacını Kaydet** (Save BOM).

**Result:** The BOM is saved with **draft revision 1** and its detail opens. A draft is not used in planning or on orders; to use it, [release the BOM](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/islemler/urun-agacini-yayinlama). In the demo environment, BOM #49 (Alt. 1 · Demo tasarım ağacı (Demo design BOM)) with **Mühendislik** (Engineering) usage was created for MAM-0010 with these steps.

## What you need to know

- When the order is released, the requirement is scaled as `satır miktarı × planlanan miktar / temel miktar` (line
  quantity × planned quantity / base quantity); component scrap increases it by `(1 + fire/100)` (1 + scrap/100), and
  the result is rounded up to the unit's precision.
- A card can appear in the BOM only once, either as primary or as alternative; the BOM's own output card cannot be a
  material.
- For a serial-managed output, the base quantity must be an integer; for a serial-managed component, the material
  quantity must be an integer.
- A backflushed component is consumed in the planned proportion when the output is posted; a serial-managed component
  is not backflushed.
- Before saving, the form is validated on the server for item eligibility, unit conversion and cycles; if there is an
  error, the **Ürün ağacı kaydedilemedi** (BOM could not be saved) summary lists the incorrect fields.
