# Define a production version

> Use a production version to determine with which BOM alternative and routing, and for which lot size and date, a card is produced.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - The card has at least one BOM with **Üretim** (Production) usage (an engineering BOM cannot be selected).
  - If a routing will be used, the card's routing is defined.

A version fixes the card's production method (BOM + routing) with a lot size and date. When the same card is produced
on different lines in different quantities, one version is opened for each line.

## Steps

1. Open the **Üretim › Üretim Mühendisliği › Üretim Versiyonları** (Production › Production Engineering › Production Versions) screen and click **Üretim Versiyonu Oluştur** (Create Production Version).

2. Open the **Çıktı kartı** (Output card) picker, type the code and select the card.

3. Enter the **Versiyon** (Version) number and the **Ad** (Name). If several versions match, the lowest number is selected.

4. Select the BOM alternative from the **Ürün ağacı** (BOM) list.

5. Select the routing alternative from the **Rota** (Routing) list or leave **Rota yok — emir operasyonsuz** (No routing — order without operations).

6. If necessary, enter the **Parti büyüklüğü** (Lot size) (minimum – maximum); the **Geçerlilik** (Validity) start is today, an empty end = unlimited. If order-less repetitive manufacturing will be used, check **Seri üretim** (Repetitive manufacturing).

7. Click **Oluştur** (Create).

**Result:** The version is saved in **Açık** (Open) status. From then on, the card's planning, explosion and production order take the BOM and routing from the matching version. In the demo environment, version 1 for MAM-0010 was created with these steps.

## What you need to know

- If a card has even **one** version, the selection is made only from versions: if there is no open version that fits
  the quantity and date, no BOM is selected and the order cannot be opened. Define versions so that they cover the
  entire quantity and date range.
- A version is not deleted. To take it out of use, check **Kilitli** (Locked) in the **İşlemler › Düzenle** (Actions ›
  Edit) window of the row; locking the only version of a card makes the card's BOM impossible to find.
- A version flagged **Seri üretim** (Repetitive manufacturing) is produced without orders: the Repetitive
  Manufacturing Confirmation explodes the BOM on the confirmation day, the components are deducted by backflush, and
  open planned orders are reduced.
- The version number is unique per card: "'MAM-0010' için 1 numaralı versiyon zaten var." (Version 1 already exists for
  'MAM-0010'.)
