# Record material consumption > Post component consumption to a production order — warehouse, storage location, stock status, batch and serial number; stock is reduced immediately. Components flagged for backflush are deducted with the output. Material consumption deducts the component used in production from stock and posts it to the order. The same requirement can be split across several lines (different warehouse, storage location or batch). ## Steps 1. On the order detail, click **Sarf Kaydet** (Record Consumption). 2. Check the **Sarf Tarihi** (Consumption Date; default today). The **İş Merkezi** (Work Center) is proposed from the order's work center; select the place where the work was actually performed. Enter a **Not** (Note) if you wish. 3. On the line of the requirement to be consumed, click **Sarf Ekle** (Add Consumption). To add all remaining quantities at once, click **Tümünü Ekle** (Add All). 4. Select the line's **Depo** (Warehouse) and **Lokasyon** (Storage Location) according to where the stock is kept; to set the same warehouse on all lines, use **Depo (tümüne)** (Warehouse, all lines). **Stok Durumu** (Stock Status) defaults to SIFIR. Consumption date — open posting period 2. Add All — all remaining quantities as lines 3. Add Consumption — this requirement only 4. Warehouse and location — where the stock is 5. Available stock now — informative 6. Save Consumption — stock decreases at once 5. For a batch-managed component, select the batch or split the quantity across the batches with the nearest expiry dates using **FEFO ile Dağıt** (Allocate by FEFO); for a serial-managed component, select the serial numbers. Change the **Miktar** (Quantity) if necessary. 6. Click **Sarfı Kaydet** (Save Consumption). **Result:** The consumption is saved with the number **MS-yyyy-nnnnnn**, the component is **deducted immediately** from the selected warehouse/storage location/status, and the requirement's **Tüketilen** (Consumed) quantity increases. If this is the first physical posting, the order becomes **Üretimde** (In Production). The document does not change; an error is reversed with a [consumption correction](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/islemler/sarf-cikti-duzeltme). ## What you need to know - **The storage location matters**: **Lokasyonsuz** (No storage location) is not the warehouse total but a separate stock breakdown. If the stock is in a storage location and you do not select it, the posting is rejected with "yeterli stok yok" (not enough stock). The **Anlık kullanılabilir** (Currently available) information exists for this reason; the server validates again at the time of posting. - Stock statuses such as **Sıfır** (New) and **İkinci El** (Second-hand) are separate stock segments; consumption is deducted from the selected segment. - **Backflush**: a component flagged **Geri sarf** (Backflush) in the BOM (a "Geri sarf" badge on the requirement, "geri sarf — çıktıyla düşer" (backflush — deducted with output) on the form) is not consumed separately; it is deducted automatically when the output is posted. Quantity deducted = planned × (total produced ÷ order's planned quantity) − consumed so far; manual consumption is not counted twice. Consuming manually on the form is allowed (it warns, it does not block). Warehouse and location ### Example **MS-2026-000003** for **UE-2026-000001** (MAM-0010 × 3): HAM-0030 sheet 56.7 KG and HAM-0034 pipe 12 M, from HAMMADDE / SAC-ALANI, work center LAZER. If the pipe were an item in an ongoing physical inventory count, the posting would be rejected (see below). ### Common messages | Message | English meaning | Cause | |---|---|---| | 'HAM-0049' kartının 'SIFIR' durumunda yeterli stok yok.
