# Create a work center

> Define a new work center (line, workshop, workbench) — code, type, supply warehouse, person responsible and shift capacity.

  - If a supply warehouse will be used, the warehouse is defined and active.
  - If a parent work center will be selected, that work center is active.

A work center is the place where the operations in a routing are performed. Its capacity is the calendar of the
production plan and of the capacity load; the supply warehouse is the warehouse where the production order's material
is staged and consumed.

## Steps

1. Open the **Üretim › Ana Veriler › İş Merkezleri** (Production › Master Data › Work Centers) screen and click **Yeni İş Merkezi** (New Work Center).

2. Enter the work center's name in the **Ad** (Name) field. The **Kod** (Code) is proposed from the name (upper case, Turkish characters simplified); overwrite it if necessary.

3. Select **Makine** (Machine), **İşçilik** (Labor) or **Diğer** (Other) from the **Tür** (Type) list.

4. If necessary, select the **Üst iş merkezi** (Parent work center), **Tesis** (Plant), **Besleme deposu** (Supply warehouse) and **Sorumlu** (Responsible); enter a **Açıklama** (Description) and **Sıra** (Sequence).

5. To define capacity, turn on the **Kapasite tanımlı** (Capacity defined) switch; enter **Vardiya** (Shift), **Mola (dk)** (Break, min), **Kullanım oranı (%)** (Utilization, %), **Bireysel kapasite** (Individual capacities) and **Çalışma günleri** (Working days). The **Günlük kapasite** (Daily capacity) is calculated.

6. If there are several machines or workbenches of the same type, add each with a name and code using **Bireysel Kapasite Ekle** (Add Individual Capacity).

7. Click **Oluştur** (Create).

**Result:** The work center is saved as **Aktif** (Active) and appears in the list; it can now be selected for [routing](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/islemler/rota-olusturma) operations. If capacity is defined, the [capacity load](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/uretim/ekranlar/kapasite-planlama) uses this calendar.

## What you need to know

- If no capacity is defined, planning assumes an 8-hour weekday for the work center; the capacity load does not show
  available time.
- Daily capacity = (shift − break) × utilization × individual capacities. The break must be shorter than the shift,
  utilization must be greater than 0 and at most 100, and at least one working day must be selected.
- If the shift end is before the start, the shift runs past midnight (night shift).
- Work centers and individual capacities are not deleted; to take one out of use, turn off the **Aktif** (Active)
  switch. An inactive work center cannot be selected for a new routing or document; past orders are not affected.
