# Trace a lot or serial number

> Trace where a lot or serial number went (customers) or where it came from (suppliers, production orders).

URL: https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/stok/islemler/lot-izleme

- **Type:** Task
- **Module:** Inventory
- **Menu path:** Stok Yönetimi › Analitik › Lot/Seri İzlenebilirlik (Inventory › Analytics › Lot/Serial Traceability)
- **Screen route:** `/erp/inventory/reports/lot-trace`
- **Required permission:** `erp-inventory-movements.view`
- **Prerequisites:**
  - The product is lot- or serial-managed.

In a recall or a customer complaint, the first question is: where did this batch come from, and who did it go to?

## Steps

1. Open the **Stok Yönetimi › Analitik › Lot/Seri İzlenebilirlik** (Inventory › Analytics › Lot/Serial Traceability) screen. If you are in the lot details, the **İzlenebilirlik** (Traceability) button opens the report with that lot.
   <!-- action: navigate · target: "/erp/inventory/reports/lot-trace" -->
2. Type the lot or serial number in the **Lot / Seri** (Lot / Serial) field and select it from the list.
   <!-- action: fill · target: "Lot / Seri" · value: "DET-2609-001" -->
3. Select the **Yön** (Direction): **İleri — nereye gitti** (Forward — where it went) (the orders it was consumed in, what they produced, customers) or **Geri — nereden geldi** (Backward — where it came from) (the orders it was produced in, what they consumed, suppliers).
   <!-- action: select · target: "Yön" · value: "İleri — nereye gitti" -->
4. In the movement table of the node in the tree, read the **Belge** (Document) and **Karşı Taraf / Bağlam** (Counterparty / Context) columns; if needed, use **Excel'e Aktar** (Export to Excel).
   <!-- action: verify · target: "Karşı Taraf / Bağlam" · expect: "Teslimat SV-2026-000001 — Trakya Et ve Et Ürünleri A.Ş. (Delivery SV-2026-000001)" -->

   ![Lot/Serial traceability — forward trace](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/en/img/screens/stok/lot-izleme.png)
   1. Lot or serial number
   2. Direction — forward / backward
   3. Document — delivery
   4. Counterparty — customer
   5. Export to Excel

**Result:** All movements of the lot are shown with their documents: its receipt (goods receipt, opening balance, production output), the production orders it was consumed in and the lots they produced, and the deliveries and customers it was shipped to.

## What you need to know

- Demo example: lot **DET-2609-001** of **MAM-0008 SIVI DETERJAN 5 LT** was traced forward: on 01.10.2026 it was
  received into the MAMUL warehouse as +160 ADET with Açılış Bakiyesi (Opening Balance) AB-2026-000003; on
  01.11.2026 −160 ADET was shipped to **Trakya Et ve Et Ürünleri A.Ş.** with **Teslimat SV-2026-000001** (Delivery
  SV-2026-000001). With the same delivery, 220 ADET of lot DET-2609-002 also went to the same customer.
- The link is at order level: every lot a production order consumes is linked to every lot that order produces.
- The chain ends at a component that is not tracked (not lot- or serial-managed): "Takipsiz — zincir burada biter"
  (Not tracked — the chain ends here).
- If the tree becomes very large, it is truncated; trace again from a lot deeper down.
- Opening the order link requires permission to view production orders.
