# Define a vehicle

> Define our own vehicle or a carrier's vehicle — license plate, type, ownership, capacity and documents with expiry dates.

## Steps

1. Open the **Lojistik Yönetimi › Filo › Araçlar** (Logistics Management › Fleet › Vehicles) screen and click **Araç Ekle** (Add Vehicle).

2. Enter the **Plaka** (License Plate) (e.g. 34 ABC 123). The plate is stored in upper case without spaces.

3. Select the **Araç Tipi** (Vehicle Type); if necessary, enter the **Marka / Model** (Make / Model) and **Model Yılı** (Model Year).

4. Select the **Sahiplik** (Ownership). If you select **Taşıyıcının** (Carrier's), select the carrier in the **Taşıyıcı** (Carrier) field that opens.

5. On the **Kapasite** (Capacity) tab, enter the **Taşıma Kapasitesi (kg)** (Load Capacity (kg)), **Hacim (m³)** (Volume (m³)) and **Palet Kapasitesi** (Pallet Capacity). Leave unknown values empty; leave them empty for a tractor unit (the capacity is on the trailer).

6. On the **Belgeler** (Documents) tab, add the inspection, compulsory traffic insurance, comprehensive insurance and tachograph lines with their type, number and **Geçerlilik Bitişi** (Valid Until) date.

7. Click **Oluştur** (Create).

**Result:** The vehicle can be selected on a shipment. An active vehicle in our own fleet with a capacity entered is also included in [Yük Planlama](https://erpdocs.corexlogic.com/en/lojistik/ekranlar/yuk-planlama) (Load Planning).

## What you need to know

- The license plate must be in Turkish plate format; otherwise *"Plaka geçersiz (ör. 34 ABC 123)."* (Invalid license
  plate (e.g. 34 ABC 123).) is displayed. The model year must have four digits, the capacity must be greater than zero
  or empty, and the pallet capacity must be an integer.
- A carrier's vehicle can be selected only on that carrier's shipments; it cannot be selected on a shipment executed by
  our own fleet.
- If a document expires within 30 days, **Süresi yaklaşıyor** (Expiring soon) is displayed; if it has expired,
  **Süresi doldu** (Expired). The **Belge Durumu** (Document Status) filter (e.g. *Dikkat gerektiren* (Needs
  attention)) lists these vehicles.
- A vehicle cannot be deleted; if it will no longer be used, clear the **Aktif** (Active) check box.
