# Choose a notification preference

> Choose the channel (application only, email, daily digest or off) for each notification type you receive.

- **Prerequisites:**
  - For email and daily digest, the installation's email server (SMTP) is defined.

The administrator sets the default channel of the rule or notification type; you choose your own channel.
"Varsayılan" (Default) follows the channel of the rule or type; the daily digest collects that day's notifications
into a single email in the morning.

## Steps

1. Open **Profil** (Profile) from the user menu at the top right and switch to the **Bildirim Tercihleri** (Notification Preferences) tab.

2. Find the notification in the table and select the channel in the **Tercihiniz** (Your preference) column: **Varsayılan (…)** (Default (…)), **Yalnız uygulama** (Application only), **Uygulama + e-posta** (Application + email), **Uygulama + günlük özet** (Application + daily digest), **Kapalı** (Off).

3. Click **Tercihleri Kaydet** (Save Preferences).

**Result:** The channel you selected applies to this notification type; at the bottom it reads 'N bildirimde kendi seçiminiz var' (You have your own choice for N notifications).

## What you need to know

- **Tümünü Varsayılana Döndür** (Reset All to Default) removes your own choices (takes effect when saved);
  **Vazgeç** (Cancel) discards unsaved changes.
- If no email server is defined, the card says "E-posta sunucusu tanımlı değil — e-posta ve günlük özet gitmez,
  bildirim uygulamada görünür." (No email server is defined — email and daily digest are not sent, the notification
  appears in the application.)
- For phone or browser notifications, turn on **Bu cihaza bildirim gönder** (Send notifications to this device) in
  the **Cihaz Bildirimi** (Device Notification) card at the top of the same tab; disabled and daily-digest types are
  not sent to the device.
